Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics
The Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics conducts its education and research activities through four departments within an academic structure that reflects the interdisciplinary nature of the aviation sector. The Faculty comprises the Departments of Avionics, Aerospace Engineering, Aviation Management, and Airframe and Powerplant Maintenance, and aims to educate qualified professionals required by civil and military aviation. This structure enables education and research activities to be addressed through an integrated approach and supports interaction among departments.

The education and training activities of the departments within our Faculty are conducted at the Central Campus of İskenderun Technical University.
Department of Avionics
The Department of Avionics offers a practice-oriented undergraduate programme that provides students with knowledge and skills related to aircraft electrical power, electronic, and avionics systems. Theoretical courses are supported by practical training covering maintenance, inspection, and repair processes.
Designed in accordance with international aviation standards, the programme includes professional courses such as Basic Electricity, Electronics Fundamentals, Aircraft Structures and Systems, Navigation, and Aircraft Instruments, as well as elective courses and foreign-language education.
Department of Aerospace Engineering
The Department of Aerospace Engineering aims to educate engineers specialising in the design, production, and development of manned and unmanned aircraft. The programme covers engineering fields such as aerodynamics, structural analysis and design, materials technologies, avionics systems, aircraft engines, rocket technology, flight dynamics, and control.
Graduates may work in research and development, production, control, automation, and maintenance units of public and private organisations operating in the aviation, space, and defence industries. Students are also offered opportunities for study and internships abroad through Erasmus+.
Department of Aviation Management
The Department of Aviation Management aims to educate graduates equipped with managerial competencies and sector-specific knowledge who can adapt to the dynamic and competitive structure of the air transport industry. Aviation-specific courses are offered alongside courses in business administration, marketing, customer relations, and economics.
The programme includes English courses throughout all four years and German courses beginning in the third year. Students can gain sectoral experience in national and international aviation organisations through compulsory internships and the Erasmus Traineeship Programme.
Department of Airframe and Powerplant Maintenance
The Department of Airframe and Powerplant Maintenance aims to educate qualified technical personnel capable of carrying out maintenance and repair activities on aircraft structures, engines, and related systems. The programme covers maintenance practices, piston and gas turbine engines, aircraft structures, materials and hardware, and hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Graduates of the programme, in which theoretical courses are supported by practical training, may work in maintenance and repair centres, aircraft component manufacturing facilities, defence industry organisations, and airline maintenance hangars.
