1. When and how are university registrations completed?

Registration dates are determined in accordance with the schedule announced by ÖSYM and the registration announcement published by the İskenderun Technical University Student Affairs Department. Candidates are required to follow the official websites of the University and the Faculty for current registration dates.

2. What happens if I do not register within the initial registration period?

＋

Students who do not complete their registration within the initial registration period are deemed to have waived their right to register.

3. Can someone else complete the registration process on my behalf?

＋

If a candidate is unable to complete the registration process in person, registration may be carried out by a person authorised through a notarised power of attorney.

4. What are the special registration requirements?

＋

To register for the relevant programmes of the Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics, students must meet the requirements specified under Condition No. 10 in the Higher Education Programmes and Quotas Guide. They must submit a criminal record certificate and a medical board report demonstrating that they meet these requirements during final registration.

a) The student must not have any criminal record or archived criminal record that would prevent the issuance of an airport entry card.

b) The student must submit a medical board report issued by a fully equipped hospital within the previous six months, confirming that there is no health condition that would prevent them from performing the profession and/or assigned professional duties, including hearing or visual loss/impairment.

*This requirement applies to the Aviation Electrical and Electronics, Aviation Management, Aviation Management Evening Education, and Airframe and Powerplant Maintenance programmes.

5. How can I find my student number?

You can find your student number by visiting the Student Number Inquiry System and entering your Turkish Republic identification number.

6. How can I access information about the Student Information System?

You can access the system through the Student Information System. Select the “Sign in with e-Government” option to log in and create your password.

7. How can I obtain my university email address?

＋

You must submit your institutional email application through the İSTE Institutional Email Application System.

8. When and where can I collect my student identity card?

＋

Student identity cards are prepared after final registration procedures have been completed. The collection date and location are announced separately by the University or the Faculty. Students are required to follow Faculty announcements regularly. The student identity card is used for campus access, dining hall services, and library services.

9. Are first-year students required to register for courses?

＋

Yes. First-year students must also register for their courses through the Student Information System within the dates specified in the academic calendar and submit their course selection for academic advisor approval.

10. How can I find out who my academic advisor is?

＋

You can view your academic advisor information through the Student Information System after advisor assignments have been completed. If your advisor information is not displayed in the system, you may contact your department secretary or the Faculty Student Affairs Unit.

11. How can I check whether my course registration has been approved by my academic advisor?

＋

You can check the approval status of your course registration on the “Course Registration” screen in the Student Information System. The registration process is completed once the courses you selected have been approved by your academic advisor. If no approval is displayed, you may contact your academic advisor.

12. Where can I access the course schedule?

You can access course schedules through the Student Information System or through announcements published on the official webpage of the relevant department.

13. Where can I access the academic calendar?

＋

You can access the academic calendar through the “Academic Calendar” section on the website of the İskenderun Technical University Student Affairs Department. Course registration dates, the beginning and end of the academic term, and examination periods are specified in the academic calendar.

14. Is attendance compulsory?

Yes. Students must attend at least 70% of theoretical courses and at least 80% of practical courses. Attendance is monitored by the instructor responsible for the course.

15. What is the language of instruction?

＋

The language of instruction in the undergraduate programmes offered by the Faculty is Turkish. However, English and professional foreign-language courses may also be included in the curricula.

16. Is a compulsory foreign-language preparatory programme available?

＋

No. There is no compulsory foreign-language preparatory programme in the undergraduate programmes offered by the Faculty.

17. How can I access course descriptions and the Bologna Information Package?

＋

You can access detailed information about curricula and courses through the “Course Catalogue” section on your department’s webpage or through the Bologna Information Package in the İSTE Student Information System.

18. How can I register for courses?

＋

Course registration is completed online through the Student Information System within the dates specified in the academic calendar. Course registration is completed after the student submits the selected courses for advisor approval and the academic advisor approves them.

It is important to observe the dates specified in the academic calendar. Course registrations completed outside the designated registration period will not be accepted.

19. How can I reach the Faculty?

The Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics is located on the Central Campus of İskenderun Technical University. The campus can be reached by public transport or private vehicle. As public transport routes and departure times may change, students are advised to check current information through the announcements of the relevant transport providers.

20. Are there student clubs and social activities at the Faculty?

＋

Yes. The University has various student societies through which students can participate in scientific, professional, cultural, artistic, social, and sporting activities. Students may join existing societies or apply to establish a new student society by meeting the relevant requirements. Announcements about societies and events can be followed through the İSTE Student Societies and the Department of Health, Culture and Sports webpages.

21. How can I use the library and internet services?

Students can borrow books with their university identity cards and benefit from the library’s printed and electronic resources. The library catalogue and electronic databases can be accessed through the webpage of the Department of Library and Documentation. For off-campus access to electronic resources, institutional email, YETKİM, or VPN services may be used after completing the necessary application. Wireless internet access on campus is available through the eduroam network.
