1. When and how is university registration completed?

Registration dates are determined in accordance with the timetable announced by ÖSYM and the registration announcement published by the Iskenderun Technical University Department of Student Affairs. Applicants must follow the official websites of the University and the Faculty for registration dates.

2. What happens if I do not register during the initial registration period?

A student who fails to register within the initial registration period is deemed to have waived the right to register.

3. Can someone else complete the registration procedures on my behalf?

Applicants who cannot complete registration in person may have their registration completed by a person authorised through a notarised power of attorney.

4. What are the special conditions for registration?

To register for the programmes of the Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics specified above, students must meet the conditions stated under Note 10 and submit a criminal record certificate and a medical board report demonstrating that they meet these conditions to the registration centre during final registration.

a) The applicant must have no criminal record or archived criminal record that would prevent the issuance of an airport entry card.

b) The applicant must submit a medical board report, obtained from a fully equipped hospital within the previous six months, confirming that no health condition prevents the applicant from practising the profession and/or performing the assigned professional duties (hearing loss/impairment, visual loss/impairment, etc.).

5. How can I learn my student number?

Visit the Student Number Enquiry System at https://obs.iste.edu.tr/oibs/ogrsis/no_query.aspx and enter your Turkish Republic identification number to learn your student number.

6. How can I learn my university e-mail address and student information system password?

You can set your student information system password at https://obs.iste.edu.tr/oibs/ogrenci/login.aspx by selecting “Reset Password” and then choosing either “Reset with Identity Information” or “Reset with E-mail Address.”

7. When and where can I receive my student identity card?

Student identity cards are prepared after final registration procedures have been completed. The University or the Faculty announces the delivery date and location separately. Students should follow Faculty announcements regularly. The student identity card is used for campus entry and access to dining hall and library services.

8. Are first-year students required to register for courses?

Yes. First-year students must register for their courses through the Student Information System within the dates specified in the academic calendar and submit their selections for academic adviser approval.

9. How can I find out who my academic adviser is?

After adviser assignments have been completed, you can view your academic adviser information through the Student Information System (OBS). If your adviser information does not appear in the system, contact your department secretariat or the Faculty Student Affairs Unit.

10. How can I check whether my course registration has been approved by my academic adviser?

You can check the approval status of your course registration on the “Course Registration” screen in the Student Information System (OBS). Your registration is completed when your academic adviser approves the courses you selected. If the approval is not displayed, contact your academic adviser.

11. Where can I access the course timetable?

Course timetables are available through the Student Information System (OBS) or through announcements published on the official website of the relevant department.

12. Where can I access the academic calendar?

The academic calendar is available in the “Academic Calendar” section of the Iskenderun Technical University Department of Student Affairs website. It specifies course registration dates, the beginning and end dates of the academic term, and examination periods.

13. Is class attendance compulsory?

Yes. Students must attend at least 70% of theoretical classes and at least 80% of practical classes. The instructor responsible for the course monitors attendance.

14. What is the language of instruction?

The language of instruction in the undergraduate programmes offered by our Faculty is Turkish. However, the curricula may also include English and professional foreign-language courses.

15. Is a foreign-language preparatory programme compulsory?

No. The undergraduate programmes offered by our Faculty do not have a compulsory foreign-language preparatory programme.

16. How can I access course content and the Bologna Information Package?

Detailed information on course content, curricula, and courses is available through the “Course Catalogue” section of your department’s website or the Bologna Information Package in the ISTE Student Information System.

17. How can I log in to the Student Information System?

You can log in to the ISTE Student Information System (OBS) with your student number and password via the “Student Information System” link on the University website. When logging in for the first time, or if you forget your password, use the “Reset Password” option on the login screen.

18. How can I travel to the Faculty?

The Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics is located on the Central Campus of Iskenderun Technical University. The campus can be reached by public transport or private vehicle. As public transport routes and departure times may change, visitors are advised to check the latest information in the announcements issued by the relevant transport providers.

19. Are there student clubs and social activities at the Faculty?

Yes. The University has various student societies through which students may participate in scientific, professional, cultural, artistic, social, and sporting activities. Students may join an existing society or apply to establish a new one after meeting the relevant requirements. Announcements concerning societies and activities are available on the ISTE Student Societies and Department of Health, Culture and Sports webpages.

20. How can I use the library and internet services?

Students may borrow books from the library with their university identity cards and use the library’s printed and electronic resources. The library catalogue and electronic databases are available through the Department of Library and Documentation website. For off-campus access to electronic resources, students may use their institutional e-mail account, YETKİM, or the VPN service after completing the necessary application. Wireless internet access on campus is available through the eduroam network.
