"FLIGHT AND BEYOND" SEMINAR ORGANISED AT ISE
A seminar titled "Flight and Beyond" was organised jointly by the Faculty of Aviation and Space Sciences and ISTE Career Planning Application and Research Centre within the scope of sector-student meetings at Iskenderun Technical University (ISTE).
As part of the Sector-Student Meetings at Iskenderun Technical University (ISTE), the Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics and ISTE Career Planning Application and Research Center jointly organized a seminar titled "Flight and Beyond." The event took place on Wednesday, December 11, at 2:00 PM, drawing the participation of ISTE Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Suha Orçun Mert, ISTE academic and administrative staff, and numerous students, especially those from the Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics. The seminar featured the Turkish Airlines (THY) Human Resources Team as guest speakers.
The event began with a moment of silence and the Turkish National Anthem, followed by an opening speech from Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Suha Orçun Mert. After welcoming the THY Human Resources Team and attendees, Mert extended his congratulations on World Civil Aviation Day (December 7) and emphasized the importance of collaborating with Turkish Airlines, one of the university's key stakeholders. He stated, “Having Turkish Airlines here to share their expertise and professional insights is invaluable for our students. We are grateful to the THY Human Resources Team for contributing to our students' future careers with their experience and knowledge.”
Held at the ISTE Main Campus Blue Hall, the event featured a detailed presentation by the THY Human Resources Team. They covered Turkish Airlines' history, mission, vision, corporate culture, and values, as well as career opportunities, training programs, internship options, recruitment processes, and application criteria. Following the presentation, students had the chance to ask questions about career-related topics of interest.
The seminar continued with a Kahoot quiz competition, where students competed to test their knowledge. Prizes were awarded to the top participants. At the conclusion of the program, faculty members from the Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics expressed their gratitude to the THY Human Resources Team for their contributions and presented them with flowers.
ISTE Rector Prof. Dr. Tolga Depci expressed his satisfaction with hosting the THY Human Resources Team, stating, “We understand the importance of our Sector-Student Meetings for our students' development. We strive to make these events as beneficial as possible by connecting students with industry representatives. As the ISTE family, we are committed to organizing more events that provide significant value to our most important stakeholders—our students.
