Iskenderun Technical University (ISTE) is expanding its educational capacity this year by opening a total of 6 new departments across its three vocational schools. With the approval of YÖK President Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, the Underwater Resource Technology Program within the Maritime Technologies Vocational School, the Drilling Technology Program and Architectural Restoration Program within the Iskenderun Vocational School, and the Foundry Program, Industrial Molding Program, and Welding Technology Programs within the Iskenderun Organized Industrial Zone Vocational School will start admitting students in the shortest possible time.
ISTE Rector Prof. Dr. Tolga Depci expressed their aim to make ISTE a prominent educational centre both in the region and Türkiye, stating, "We are pleased to accept students in our visionary new programs with the approval of YÖK President Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar. I would like to thank Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar for his support for the efforts we have made for the development, transformation, and growth of ISTE, on behalf of myself and our university. With the new programs where we do not compromise on the quality of education in our vocational schools, we will continue to train qualified intermediate staff for our region and Türkiye. In this context, I wish all the best for our newly opened departments and I wish success to the students who will join us".
