OUR MISSION
The mission of the Occupational Health and Safety Coordination Office at İskenderun Technical University is to provide guidance on developing healthy and safe working environments across all university units, coordinate efforts to prevent occupational accidents and diseases, and support a sustainable occupational health and safety culture.
In line with applicable legislation and scientific approaches, our core responsibilities are to strengthen cooperation among university units in risk assessment, workplace monitoring, health surveillance, training, information sharing and emergency preparedness; encourage the participation of employees and their representatives; and contribute to continual improvement by monitoring the implementation of preventive measures. We promote the protection of employees and the development of a safe campus environment for students and visitors in laboratories, workshops, classrooms, offices and shared spaces.
OUR VISION
To contribute to a university where occupational health and safety is an integral part of education, research and management; risks are identified proactively and prevented at their source; and a participatory and inclusive safety culture is embraced across all campuses. We aspire to be a coordination office recognised among higher education institutions for translating scientific knowledge and technology into preventive practices, monitoring and continually improving its performance, and sharing exemplary practices.
